Edit the text in the Story Editor, which lets you view all the text (Edit > Edit in Story Editor).Choose Edit > Select All to select all the text, and then decrease the font size.To fix overset text, try one of the following: Generally, overset text is considered a bad thing that needs to be fixed. A small red plus sign in the lower-right corner of a text frame indicates overset text. If you import or enter more text into a text frame than the frame can hold, the text you can't see is referred to as overset text. To link text frames, you need to click the out ports and in ports. With the Selection tool, click a text frame to identify its in port in its upper-left corner and its out port in its lower-right corner ( Figure 19a). Then, choose View > Show Text Threads so you can see the links between frames. Choose View > Show Frame Edges to see outlines of the text frames. To start threading text frames, you need to be able to see and understand what you're doing. To thread text frames, use the Selection tool or the Direct Selection tool. You cannot, however, add text frames to a thread if they already contain text. You can thread two or more empty text frames, and you can thread text frames to an existing frame. All the advantages of working with stories make threading text frames particularly important. You can edit stories in the Story Editor limit a spell check or search-and-replace function to only the text in a story or select all the text in a story to reformat it, export it, or copy and paste it. Working with a story-as opposed to multiple unthreaded text frames containing text-has many advantages. When text frames are threaded, one long block of text-such as a newspaper story or a series of one-paragraph catalog descriptions-flows from one frame to the next.Īll the text within a series of threaded frames is referred to as a story. To solve this dilemma, InDesign lets you link text frames to each other through a process called threading. Plus, you may not want all your text crammed into a single frame. I really need InDesign (if necessary I could do without all the rest).Right away you'll notice that all your text doesn't always fit into one frame. Neither the supplied number nor the old one that came with the discs (tried with and without hyphens) will work. I tried to run the installer in the InDesign folder but that failed at the serial number stage, showing a blank line rather than a series of boxes. Photoshop has installed, and seems to be working. I understand the instructions about moving the disc 2 image but they don't apply, as there are no disc images! I assume that at some point the disc images have been replaced by self-extracting zips and no one has noticed or bothered to update the pdf. Using the supplied serial number this started installing but stalled at "Insert Disc 2". In the first folder was a Setup file which I ran. When I ran these exe files (using the default folders) they created sub-folders: Adobe Creative Suite 2.0 (with many sub-folders including Illustrator and Photoshop), Adobe InDesign CS2, Adobe Version Cue. When I downloaded the files there was no sign of the disc images, just CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1.exe, etc. CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1.exe) to those in the pdf (e.g. ![]() The download files have different names (e.g. I tried to follow the CS2_install_Win pdf but ran into some problems. I discovered the activation problem and went to the download site Download Adobe Acrobat 7 and Adobe Creative Suite 2 products. I have had CS2 running perfectly well on Windows 10 pro for some time (mainly InDesign, also Acrobat, Photoshop and Illustrator) but I now have to move everything to a new PC.
